Mounting a rescue

So, we had flash flooding across Melbourne (and Victoria) this afternoon and tonight, and we had to go rescue my mum, since she got trapped. We passed several cars that had obviously been dumped, including a BMW convertible that had just been left in the middle of North Road (the rain had since drained away in that part of the road, so the car looked pretty odd).

Anyway, my fella likes nothing better than this sort of thing. This was the “kit” that he put together to go rescue my mum from the terrible terrible rain:

He’s very thorough 🙂

  3. I don’t know if you can see everything properly, now that I look at the photo again — but there’s two different types of saw and a hatchet (in case we needed to chop fallen trees), workgloves, rope, a big torch, water and something that I couldn’t even identify.

As it turned out, we needed none of it.
